The critical tools that the Relief India Trust uses for their fundraising campaigns

Introduction:

The effectiveness of the fundraising campaigns depends on a number of things. Planning and understanding the dynamics of the society is very important. Further, the NGOs must also understand the mentality of the potential donors who they are looking to approach in their society. The Relief India Trust believes that planning for the fundraising campaign should essentially contain these things as they can guarantee you success or at least help you to get in line in order to have a much focused approach in fundraising campaigns. The fundraising campaigns should look professional and contemporary at the same time. Time has changed and a lot of things which were not practiced earlier are used nowadays.

The critical tools for fundraising campaigns:

According to ReliefIndia Trust, following is a list of some of the most crucial tools that the NGOs should use for their fundraising campaigns:

·         Organizational profile – The NGOs must ideally develop a nice and comprehensive organizational profile which must include the name of the organization, their contact number, address, email, website and social media contacts which can be used by the potential donors when they want to make a contact with them.

·         Brochure – Brochure are ideal for the marketing of the NGO and it is also a very inexpensive technique to use. Graphics along with some good text and of course the logo of the NGO would make a good impression to the potential donors whom you reach. They can be used effectively at all locations for the general public, even for the promotion and marketing of the NGO.

·         Annual Report – Relief India Trust believes that an annual report can be a very important thing in your fundraising campaigns. Both the current and the potential donors might be interested in knowing about the performance of the NGO in the last year. Make sure that the report is comprehensive, well arranged and includes all the critical factors which are relevant with the NGOs annual report.

·         Governing document – The governing document again is a very critical thing which the NGOs usually present while submitting their proposal to their potential donors. The governing document actually contains information about the organizational structure of the NGO.  As you can imagine that it can be a very critical document for the donors and they usually make up their mind about granting donations by considering their governing document.

·         Fact sheet – Fact sheet is probably the most in demand tool that the NGOs use in their fundraising campaigns. The donors too are more interested in the fact sheets as compared with the annual report. The fact sheet contains factual information about the NGOs in a very concise manner. As you can imagine that the potential donors, especially who are busy professionals don’t have too much time to read all through the annual report. They might refer that later, but on the spot they might be interested in the fact sheet with some quick information about the NGO.
