Relief India Trust different approaches for making money

Introduction:

It is true that NGOs are nonprofit organizations, but they can make money by doing a lot of things. But, the intention of making money shouldn’t be for their own benefit. Rather, they should make money and use it for the upbringing and support of the social sector. It may also be used for their administrative cost. According to ReliefIndia Trust, there are a number of techniques through which NGOs can make money. They just have to find an idea which suits their type of organization. If their money making technique is successful, then it will have less burden on their fundraising campaigns and especially when they are not going very well.

Ideas for making money by the NGOs:

According to ReliefIndia Trust, the following is a list of some of the amazing ideas for making money for their NGO:

·         Schematic Projects – The schematic projects should be the one that NGOs should go for. The NGOs intention must always be to help the underprivileged people of the community. For this purpose, they can have massive schematic projects where they can make some good money too. A good way of doing this is to come up with programs such as education for all, where not only the underprivileged children will study, but also the other kids can come who can afford to pay. If the NGOs in India can manage to have a good education standards in their institutes, then they will see a lot of other children coming in who can pay them for the education and thus the NGOs can make good money.

·         Mass media campaigns – There are a number of distinct mass media campaigns which are initiated by different NGOs in collaboration with their media partners. The intention here is to support the underprivileged community. The relationship between the society and the media is an ideal combination to support and flourish the progressive career of the NGO and its economic growth. They can accumulate lots of money if their mass media campaigns go successfully.

·         Community oriented projects – According to ReliefIndia Trust, the community oriented projects can be a very lucrative venture for the NGOs in terms of making some good money in quick time. All of the social work that different NGOs intend, include several communal as well as individual welfare programs. This kind of a setup by NGOs attracts donors and different donor agencies for donating some good money for the communal benefit.

·         Supporting Government at the time of disaster – A disastrous situation is definitely not a time in the country to exploit something, but in a way it gives NGOs an opportunity to grab some quick funds. Several NGOs which are working in different sectors do have some material resources such as heavy machineries and other such equipment which can be used in the disastrous situation for the relief work. The government who normally hires such machinery from private businesses can approach the NGOs to give them the material resources against its renting price.
