How Relief India Trust Recruit Top Class Fundraisers

Introduction:

Fundraising campaigns are very critical for any NGO in order to ensure continuity and success in their projects. The effectiveness of the fundraising campaigns is dependent on the quality of your project and the ability and effectiveness of your staff that have all the right ideas to influence the potential donors to donate generously for the cause. Relief India Trust feels great pride to have the services of top fundraising employees for performing the much needed fundraising campaigns. None of the staff from day one of his joining could be effective and usable for starting any major fundraising campaign straight away. Everybody needs some time to adjust and they need to be trained well in order to produce some quality results in favor of the NGO. For this purpose, the NGOs recruitment management or the recruitment team needs to play their part. They should intelligently hire people who are capable and have the potential to perform the fundraising campaign activities.

Training of the fundraising staff:

The Relief IndiaTrust management has got the right eye to recognize the potential in the fundraising campaign candidate during their recruitment and the potential employees’ screening process. This can be a tough process initially, but with time every organization learns about the necessary tactics of recruitment with experience. The potentially capable staff recruited is then supposed to be groomed by extensive training programs to perform their required fundraising campaigns with ease. There are different types of fundraising campaigns. The following are three major types of fundraising campaigns that are practiced by the Relief India Trust:

1.       Fundraising through Correspondence.
2.       Telephone Fundraising.
3.       Face to Face Fundraising.
All the above are different types of fundraising campaigns and ideally the experienced and the medium or the large scale NGOs have dedicated staff to help run the fundraising campaign effectively on behalf of the NGO they are working for. All the above mentioned fundraising campaign techniques have different requirements and for this reason, different fundraising training sessions are designed. One quality of the employee that is commonly required in all the approaches is to have very effective communication skills. The candidate ideally has to be outspoken with a friendly tone and must have the idea as how to tackle all types of situations which may arise during an interaction with the potential donors. The information and knowledge about the NGO and its programs and services is pivotal.

Ideally, the fundraising staff essentially has to take his job just as a marketing consultant or a salesman. He has to sell the products and services of the NGO which is actually the main thing for which the NGO is working for and also which can interest the potential donors as well. The volunteers, however are regarded as the most effective individuals for performing such task as they have got the right motivation and dedication which is highly required for such fundraising campaigns. The volunteers are further more useful as they don’t add any financial burden on the NGO.
