Ways In Which Non-Profit Organizations Have Empowered The Girl Child

For quite some time, the world has gone by in a chauvinistic way. The overall belief that the boy child has precedence over the girl child has been one of the major setbacks that society has faced for a long time. But, recently there has been a bold move into changing that approach. There are now people in society who have risen to challenge this fact in totality. The argument brought forth is that all genders should be treated equally. This struggle has been aimed at empowering the girl child to reach for her goals and ambitions.

The Relief India Trust is one of these campaigners for the girl child. The trust fund has this issue close at heart as it’s one of its major goals. The trust has really helped out in empowering the girl child in very numerous ways. These ways include the following;

Education
The trust has provided girls with the opportunity to learn in better conditions to enable them to reach a greater level of understanding. The trust has built several centers where women and girls can freely visit to have some time to read and gain more knowledge. Empowerment through education is one of the most effective ways to promote equity. This is because, through education, the girl child is able to pursue her goals and ambitions and most importantly, get employment that will definitely help her gain her independence.

Skill creation
The organization has been in great support of centers that are aimed at teaching women skills that can help them earn a living for themselves. These centers teach women very many numerous things such as weaving, jewelry making and tailor work. Through the learnt skills, the women are able to get employed or even employ themselves and earn income. This way, the women can feel free to make their own financial decisions without necessarily having to depend on other persons.

Role model influence
The Relief India Trust has developed partnerships with major women leaders in the country to provide actual examples of the possibility of womanly strength. Through these partnerships, the trust has been able to reach more girls through their empowerment campaign. This is because, the female authority figures are a good inspiration to many girls and as such they have exemplary role models to actually look up to.

Cooperative creation
There is nothing stronger than gender unity. The mutual agreement and care for one’s own gender is a strong motivation towards empowerment. The Relief India Trust has been in the forefront in creating women cooperatives in which women can participate. In these cooperatives, women can join up to create savings that they can most likely access later. This helps most women improve their saving culture and eventually improve their standard of living. The women can also partake in building activities. This is done by the women being able to share their challenges with one another and also ways to solve certain problems as well.

Gender equity is a very important thing in society and it ensures peace and harmonious living between both genders and also improve the level of society. This campaign should be taken up by all as it’s just and fair.
