A Few Exciting Fundraising Insights From The Relief India Trust

Not all nonprofit organizations are same in all respects. Different aspects of a particular organization differentiate it from another. However, one particular activity that every nonprofit organization undertakes is fundraising, and the Relief India Trust is not an exception to this. In view of   the structures of different entities, fundraising ideas may vary quite significantly. Ideas and strategies for fundraising may also vary depending on the expectations of the communities which organizations aim to serve. In order to find out the best fundraising method, nonprofit organizers have to ponder over different concepts.

Here are some effective fundraising activities which have helped a lot of nonprofit organizations across the world.

Member donations:
The most common source of funds that a nonprofit entity receives is the revenue from its memberships maintained by the members. The majority of funds come in two ways such as in voluntary donations on a periodic basis or in the form of yearly dues. Most nonprofits go on motivating their members to have an altruistic desire. The limitation that many nonprofits have to go with is not the amount of contribution the members can be willing to make. The limiting factor is often associated with what organizers of nonprofits feel comfortable to ask for. In order to capitalize on this altruistic desire, organizers may ask wealthy members to offer a matching grant that requires them to donate an amount that is equal to another made by other members.
However, organizers have to understand if a particular member who is solvent enough to donate. The actual objective is not to identify the wealthiest members. Rather, this strategy motivates not only the richest members but also the members who can afford to give smaller amounts. The Relief India Trust believes that the smallest amount of donation raises another. It is particularly true when it comes to the fundraising efforts of nonprofits.

List of some more fundraising ideas:
·         Art/craft stalls
·         Book sale
·         Charity luncheon or dinner
·         Cinema screening
·         Cricket match
·         Cycle for charity
·         Afternoon tea
·         Face painting
·         Exhibitions

Auctions and raffles:
Some nonprofits may dislike the idea of making straight sales, which is why there is a better alternative to this. An auction or a raffle can replace straight sale for fundraising. But, this method works well when a particular organization has members who have interests in contributing precious items to such events. For example, a raffle ticket that is worth only a very small amount of money can be drawn to get a valuable item that is worth a much larger amount. This strategy will help organizers make more money than they could after selling the product directly.

However, before holding an event like this, organizers should be sure of the fact that the number of their members is satisfactory enough to make a viable fundraiser event. At the Relief India Trust, the number of members is good enough to hold such events. If there are just few ticket buyers or bidders, chances are that organizers may fall a victim to a money-losing situation.

Funding of Relief India Trust:

As an NGO is a non-governmental organization so most of the times the government does not help these organizations when it comes to funds. These organizations have to generate the funds for themselves and they are non-profit organizations. The Relief India Trust is also a non-profit organization and it depends on the generous people around the world to help the organization by giving donations. These donations are further used by the organization to run its process of helping the needy people. Every year a large amount of money is required as the treatment of  diseases like Tallahassee, educating and giving basic human needs to a number of people is an expensive process when it comes to an organization. The donations may be given by any individual person, a company or on behalf of the government.
Relief India Trust also organizes different events through which it collects funds for the organization. Some NGOs make different products which people can buy and the revenue that is generated through this process goes in the organization’s fund.

Individual Funding:
There are a number of generous people around the world that support different causes and are working to eliminate poverty, hunger, racism, lack of education and other social issues like these. These people give funds to specific NGOs that are working in different social fields and their funds help these organizations to acquire the revenue they need to fuel their social services for the community.
Funding by a Company:
Different companies are also interested in giving back to the society, so they also take part in this process and give funds to NGOs for different social services.
Government Funding:
Very few times the government also helps some NGOs in order to give relief to people. Government does what’s in its power to help people, but there are areas where government cannot reach, but there are few NGOs that already have a proper structure established in these areas so the government gives funding to its trusted NGOs.
Events:
NGOs arrange different events like Relief India Trust recently arranges a number of workshops and seminars along with events related to children to collect funds from people.
Products:
There are different types of products that different organizations launch. When these products are bought, the revenue collected goes to the organization as funding.
Relief India Trust:
The organization relies on individual funding to continue its operations. There are a number of generous people who help the organization to continue its social services, but as the time is passing by and the area in which the organization is operating is getting bigger, the amount needed to cope up with the expenses is increasing on a daily basis. So the organization needs a lot of people who are ready to fund the organization.
The organization is also searching for different companies so that it could collaborate with them and collect a valuable amount of fund through this collaboration so no hurdle comes in the way of helping the needy people.
At the moment, the government is giving no help to organization, but the organization is hopeful for the future.
